Pakistan Woman Education and Media
Pakistani woman is not given education in rural areas and is strictly prohibited; this system goes totally against Islamic teachings. The situation is the most critical in NWFP and Baluchistan, where the female literacy rate stands between 3 per cent and 8 per cent. Special attention should be given by the government to the rural areas on the education of women.
Female education didn't flourish well because of the corruption and lack of interest that the government has given on this issue. Since the foundation of Pakistan, primary education was a high priority in the education policy documents. The leading cause of the failure of these statements was due to the division of administrative institutions. In backward areas of Pakistan most of the Pakistani parents deprive their daughters of basic education due to traditions, which oppress women. Without the opportunity to receive education, women's chance for self-advancement is very difficult. Some of the most notable barriers to female education are the lack of parent's education, which has a strong influence on children's education. If the parent is illiterate then the kid will be too. In fact, if the mothers are educated, kids will look up to her.
A Pakistani Woman is capable of raising the standard of living. Future Women will be part of a social and economic change in their community, but only if they are given the opportunity to get an education now; hence, women will contribute to their whole society. In Pakistan woman education is one of the most highly investments in long term.
However, there is a vast difference in attitudes of women, and their behavior, in urban and rural areas. Pakistani Women of the posh ares are moving forward in the field of education. They are highly skilled, talented and open minded. They are taking part in every field and are serving nation very well. They are highly future oriented and have professional thinking. Youthful women are more aware of their identities, their capabilities and are definitely more ambitious. The inflation and exposure through media has opened minds of the Pakistani society, where parents feel confident that their daughters can also be successful in lives.
The electronic media in Pakistan is fast becoming an avenue where women are seen shoulder-to-shoulder with men. However, the role of woman in our media seems to be fast heading in a direction where they are increasingly appreciated for their looks and attractiveness, rather than their brains or intellect. This trend is a matter of great concern for our society with regard to its youth in particular to young women.
In Pakistan Woman in media should focus on important issues of the society rather than becoming a show piece. They should participate in the TV shows where discussion should be done on important matters like how to start business? How to start career? How the girls can become engineers or scientists or horticulturists? Political uprising etc. The drama serials should come with more realistic stories that increase the awareness in the Pakistani people.
The appearance of the beaming faces of our women's cricket team came like a bright flash of hope. Girls watching TV across Pakistan caught a glimmer of our really modern Pakistani woman.
